I got my new cooper LTZ's installed today. However the rear is rubbing big time on the rear felt liners. I have not heard anyone else seeing this. Any ideas?

Mine is a 2013. I am wondering if a 10mm spacer would take care of it?

Is that the only area that rubs? Sounds like a spacer would help, but hopefully someone else will chime in who had the same issue. How is the clearance in the front without the leveling kit?

EDIT: CityCrawler has a 2013 with the 275 Zeons, He has the level kit in the front and spacers on, but I think he had the Zeons, put on before the spacers. Not sure if you saw this thread:

Yes I made my decision based on his thread. It only needs a very small amount to not run.
The leveling kit went on yesterday. It rode great with the lift. Had to adjust the headlights but not a big deal.

It only seems to rub when I brake harder, and when I hit bigger dips in the road. I will get a pic in the morning.

i am running 285 50R20 on my stock limited 2014 no rub on front or back

here are the cooper zeon specs compared to the stock good year 265 tire

265/50R20 Overall Diameter 30.50 Section Width 10.90 Tread Width 8.3
275/55R20 Overall Diameter 31.93 Section Width 11.22 Tread Width 9.3
Change +1.43" +.32" +1.00"
285/50R20 Overall Diameter 31.29 Section Width 11.63 Tread Width 9.73
change + .79" +.73" +1.43"

there are the numbers
55 tire will be much taller and might rub off road more than the 50

It is rubbing in the back. Just got home, I will go out and get pics. No rubbing in the front. it has about 3 credit cards worth of room in the front.

Yes I did. It is barely touching. Seems to rub worse while braking and dips in the road while moving.

Found the issue.

Came up with a solution.

The rear passenger tire was rubbing on the liner. That is the grove cut into the liner. It sat 1/2-3/4" away from the metal. I cut out that section and it was gone. Not a major issue, but I didn't want it cause an issue down the line. No impact to anything really. Someone else got a new liner but they have a competent service department. Mine would say, it was due to me putting bigger tires on. Not a defect in the liner.
