Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

Is anyone running 275/65r18 Duratracs on 18 inch JK wheels? All examples I can find in search are people running 255/70r18s on the JK wheels. In Canada the Mopar wheels are $$$ and the JK wheels are almost free.

I'm picking up my 2011 Overland this week and want to get ready for winter.

I ended up going this route on my 2011 Overland and since I couldn't find any picture here is mine with LT275/65r18 Duratracs on the 18 inch JK Sahara rims.

Fit great and I love the look. Shown in Park, Normal Ride Hide and OR2

Any yes we also have a Mazda CX5.. Amazing on gas and sporty suspension but no power and feels cheap.

Anyone know the max duratrac tire size with wheel backspacing (if that matters) to fit in the spare tire? Somone said that 275/60 fit but 275/65 didn't. IDK if thats LT or P tire tho. anyone have insight on this? I dont want to go purchase a tire for it to not fit

I just had P275/65/18 Duratracs installed on my '14 Laredo and got a P255/70/18 for the spare. The tire fits in the spare compartment, but the lid doesn't close. The bottom of the lid pretty much sits flush with the top of the cargo area in the back.

So it closes but doesn't clamp shut? I would be curious if the inch or so difference in the spare would effect driving with the spare, but i suppose thats all it is... a spare until you get the other fixed.

No it doesn't clamp. It rests on the tire. If by close, you mean it sits far enough down to not see a gap into the compartment, then yes. But it also doesn't fit into the recess. It's flush.

Is the spare a Duratrac too?

Those sidewall lugs definitely add more to the width, so I'm just curious if that could be a part of the tight fit.

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

hey everyone,
need some help with tires please.
i have a 2012 jeep grand cherokee lardo 4x4 and i am wanting to add a 2.5" lift and duratracs tires. Right now its all factory and i am wanting to keep the factory rims to save some cash. but looking to change the stance and look.
right now the tires are p245/70r17.
questions are: what is the best size tire for a 2.5" lift?
I want a bigger tire but not wanting too big that it affects the ride.

thanks

Yes the spare is a Duratrac. I didn't really look closely enough to tell what part of the tire the lid rests on. When I first saw that it doesn't close all the way now I was a little surprised, but it doesn't bother me either. So I stopped there
