I run these in the winter as well and had very good performance. I had a couple instances of driving up to the mountains in heavy snow (Colorado) last winter where I was easily getting traction to climb the bigger hills on I-70 after stopping whereas other 4WD and AWD vehicles were struggling.

I still keep my stock tires around in case I'm going on a longer summer road trip sans 4-wheeling.
Thanks for the reply, captdef!

I really do love these Duratracs and it's hard to argue with everyone's positive opinion who uses them.

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

Has anyone had any ill effects other than slight speedometer inaccuracy from the oversized tires? I assume the engine runs slightly lower rpms at the same road speed and that the 44 to 1 crawl ratio i have with my 2 speed transfer case will be slightly lower with the larger tires. It looks like a 1.5 inch tire diameter increase which would result in a 3/4 inch lift to the vehicle going from stock 265/60-18 to 275/65-18.

Also any balancing issues or advice with duratracs and mopar wheels?

Sorry for all the questions and Thanks again for all the informative posts. My 18inch mopar wheels should be here in a week and i should be ordering my 275/65-18 duratracs and 255/70-18 bridgestone spare for the stock spare tire wheel shortly after the holidays. Thanks to Capt def for checking the spare tire fit. Did you use the stock sparetire rim for your Capt?

Any issues with the tire pressure monitoring system for anyone running larger tires? Did you have to order new sensors with your new tires? Was there any extra cost?

Thanks

I think I've answered your other questions in other posts or PMs. In reference to balancing, I don't know what kind of issues you are considering but mine were balanced by the shop that did my install. They also checked my alignment which was good to go and did not need adjustment. No issues.

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

Great glad to hear it and thanks for the help. I asked about balancing because the 33s on my old rubicon used to throw the wheel weights off afyer a couple of weeks when the tires wore in but they seemed to balance themselves.

Will these fit fine with a 1.5 wheel spacer on them? Thanks

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

The reviews seem great, and these tires look awesome. I'm a little concerned that they're an LT tire. I know getting the improper load range tire can cause a much harsher ride, what are your experiences with this?

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

Yes, you should probably expect a little stiffer ride when you switch to an "LT" tire. As the name implies it's a light truck tire, not a "P" or passenger tire.

As for the ride on the WK2's, unless your running them at a high PSI, ride quality shouldn't be that noticeable. I'll let you know (hopefully within the week) when I get my wheels back from being powder coated and the new DuraTracs installed.

If your planning on spending any serious time offroad I would encourage you to consider an "LT-MS-Offroad" type tire. If you only venture offroad once or twice a year on bladed gravel/dirt roads your stock road tire will be fine.

What you intend to do with your Jeep will influence your tire selection.

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

Just drove my '14 GC home from the tire shop after getting 275/65r18 duratracs installed on mopar offroad wheels. The ride quality is still quite good. Much better than expected on the pavement. All the street racer kids working at the tire shop loved the new GC diesel and commented that it is amazing what a set of wheels and tires can do to change the look of a vehicle. The rear tires are a very tight fit near the fender liners but no rub at all detected on the way home. Here is a quick pic.

Re: 275/65/18 Duratracs on Mopar Wheels!

Has anyone used these on 17 inch wheels? I'd like to give them a try on my stock wheels, any input into sizing? I am at stock ride height, thanks.
