295/??/22

Hey guys. I've done research on forum and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. My 15 Altitude is about to be lowered on Road Magnet mid drop springs and Bilstein shocks. Originally I was going to put on a 22x10.5 wheel with +38 offset wrapped in Pirelli 305/35/22 tires as I have read this is the max width compatible with our trucks. Seems as though these tires are discontinued and I can not seem to find another decent tire in this size. My question is this...Can someone suggest a tire size on a 22x10.5 wheel that will not rub? If I go with a 295 what number should the sidewall be? 35? 40?

I can't offer any info on tire rub for your setup, but a 295/35 would be closer to the stock diameter than the 40 series...so your speedo won't be too out of whack.

some tire sizes are hard to find or way overpriced. I just got some 305 40 22 tires. I'm not running the truck super low so not too worried about rubbing. the tire size difference isnt huge neither is the speedo off much. these links have helped me for years w/ my Vw when selecting rims and tires. Re: 295/??/22

The Pirelli 305/35/22 aren't discontinued, they're just back ordered. Pirelli has stated on another forum that they will start new production of that size in March/April.

I know they are available in Canada at a few retailers....PCM Tire in Quebec for one.

It looks like Summit Racing in the States also has them.

Vredestein is also still making their 305-35-22.

Michelin is also coming out with a 305-35-22 in the Pilot Super Sport.

Re: 295/??/22

I would definitely explore other options in sizes. You're talking small differences when you go from 295 to 305 and 35 or 40 series tires. One tire may be $500 and a tire in a different size can be half the price. just my 2 cents

Take a look at Scooter's ride....he went with the 305-40-22's & it looks awesome at the same time as giving a bit more tire between the road & rim.

If I was replacing my 305-35-22's, I'd go that route.

Help me make a choice
