305-50-20...will it fit on SRT Goliath rim 20x9

What are the chances that the 305-50-20 will fit on the SRT Goliath 20x9 wheel (offset +34mm) without rubbing?

This web site seems to indicate that the more aggressive offset of the Goliath wheel would keep the tire away from the suspension.

I'm talking to a tyre shop here in Oz about this set up for the Terra Grapplers but using the Replica SRT Spyder Monkey Rims 20x10 with 45 offset. He's pretty sure that it'll fit my Limited as std but is checking around and is going to call me next week.

Right on, thanks Webby.

If your setup works then mine should as well based on this offset calculator.

I'm an optimist however searching the forum I see that there are a few posts including from Scott confirming that they rub on the front so am not hopefull on this one. I may end up sticking with the stock rims and just going for the 285/50/20 Grapplers.

Will wait and see what the tyre shop says next week and if they can fit up a rim here in Brisbane all I can do is test it before buying. He's quoting $2,900AUD fitted and balanced but without TPMS so am pretty keen to go ahead if it works.

Re: 305-50-20...will it fit on SRT Goliath rim 20x9

I would forget about the 305/50 tires as that diameter tire has to much of a variance in size from OEM 265/50 to the tune of 5.17 % this would play havoc on your drivetrain. The perfect match for your situation with a 20x9 +34 wheel is a 295/45/20 as this tire has the exact diameter as the OEM 265/50. With that offset your wheel will stick out 37mm (1.5") more than OEM setup. I would take a measurement to see if that is going push you past the fender lip. But I'am thinking it is going to be right to the edge. hope this helps.

Thanks Dennis the only problem is that Trail Grappler is an AT which aren't available in a 295/45/20. I'm happy to put on a set of Bushwacker Flares to overcome the overhang issue but other than incorrect speedo readings what sort of Havoc are you suggesting may be caused by varying the outside diameter too far?

Re: 305-50-20...will it fit on SRT Goliath rim 20x9

I believe you would have a problem with the electronic 4WD system as there are certain parameters that have to be maintained for it to work properly. Going outside these parameters might confuse the system. From what I understand it is best to try and stay as close as possible to OEM specs with no more than a 3% difference outside those specs. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Re: 305-50-20...will it fit on SRT Goliath rim 20x9

I hear what you are saying Dennis although I'm not convinced that varying the Tyre dimensions will affect anything other than speedo reading and steering/suspension geomerty. If a wheel alignment doesn't address the steering geometry issue and the tyres physically don't fit ie rubbing or flares not covering the protruding portion then I won't fit them.
I'd love to be able to fit the 305's but if the tyre shop can't guarantee fitment with regards to the above, then I'll just stick with the 285/50/20's on my stock rims as I know they work having this set up on my 2011 GC.
I only like the idea of the 305 because it's bigger so it must be better

Will tire shops install a 295 on a 9" rim? I checked a couple tires on Tirerack and the specs show 9.5" as the min width ? Would love to get a set of Reps and 295s but wondering if I shouldn't be looking at a 10" rim instead?

Well you could be right webby. I guess the only way to find out is to test fit them and see how it looks. I hope it works out for you. Keep us posted.

Yeah will, do. If the 305's doesn't work out i'll find something else to spend the $1,500 i've "saved" on.

305-50-20...will it fit on SRT Goliath rim 20x9

Um, specs for a 305/50r20 General Grabber AT2 show it to be 32"x 12.4" and fit on rims from 8.5" - 11" wide.

I have no idea if this will fit well based on the proposed wheels, but lots of us are running a 32" tire on stock WK2s as it is the largest size that typically fits without a lift or other modification.

Yes, the speedo will be off 5%. Basically you'll be about 3mph faster when the speedo reads 65mph.

Do note that you must refer to the actual tire specs for sizes as they will vary between brands and models. As an example, a Yokohoma in that same size is speced as 32.4". In addition, the specs will denote what wheel widths are supported.

All in all, a fair number of folks here are running 32" tires. Mine are 32"x11" on stock wheels. General consensus is 32" will fit in most cases and the more you go above that the more likely you'll rub.

That said, note those are pretty wide and that will increase the odds they will rub.

My guess is you'll clear the control arm without difficulty (I clear it with an 11" tire and stock offset), but you might rub.
