800Lbs extra in stereo equipment airbag helpers??

I am putting a serious system in my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X 3.6L. I am concerned with daily weight having around 800 extra pounds in the rear at all times. Not just when towing since this will be a stereo.

Should I go with custom springs from spring specialty shop, or should I do airbag helpers such as the airlift 1000.

Want to keep ride as close to stock height and ride comfort.

Sorry, can't help with your question, but holy cow! If I added every piece of stereo equipment I own plus my old 48" rear projection TV I couldn't come close to 800 lbs.

Either get LL shocks or air helper bags.

Just as an aside since you mention towing...remember that 800 lbs plus any tongue weight comes out of the allotment for total cargo including people. Hopefully, you don't weigh too much as the driver.

Damn...I thought I was adding some weight to mine with a monster stereo...but mine is only going to be ~400 Lbs...by the time the subs/amps/batteries are added...

What you doing that's going to weigh 800lbs?

Lol. What do you have?

I have a 270a singer alternator. 3 xs power d3100 ( 246lbs), 2 15 dc level 6s (200lbs). Ampere audio 5k (40lbs), 7.5 net cube box made of mdf (250lbs). Speaker wire etc.

Plus I weigh 250. That right there is close to 1000.

Where can I get LL shocks? Airbag helpers are only $90 and support up to 1000.

Re: 800Lbs extra in stereo equipment airbag helpers??

My assumption is that he means in a constant state versus intermittently.

Is this a daily driver? 1000# changes driving dynamics and braking, a lot. If it's not your only ride or you can live with it initially, set it up and do before and after measurements. Then pick the right tool. 1000lbs should take ~2" off rear ride height on non tow steel spring jeeps. Air bags don't always stay inflated and they cannot regain significant lost height, you're not just towing after all. Onboard air would do well with your set up.

One solution would be to use any one of the available lift springs in back and upgrade to blistiens and the SRT swaybar. Then if the front is a hair low if not right at stock you can come up with a shim or two...
You could also use a TJ spacer in the back with bags and OE springs for 1" lift

It sounds like you're not fooling around and have a good amount invested in components, it'd be more fun to drive this thing like the weight wasn't even there, or minimize it. To do that and stay as close to stock in safety and ability I'd look at springs, bar, and shocks personally.

I'm guessing your next mod will be hydraulics so you can 'hit the switches and make it dance' or slam and touch the frame on the ground. Might as well leave it stock until you do that.

But seriously - doing anything to address the front stage? Or just putting bump in the trunk?

No hydraulics.

Sorry forgot to mention front stage. 2 sets of components up front, 1 set of components in the rear and a ppi 900.4 for right next. Ill add a 2nd 900.4 for more mids and highs
