Re: GAUGING interest in adding SRT8 Brembos to your wk2?

Id say youll need atleast 20" wheels for these.....maybe 22". These have 15" rotors

CONFIRMED- 2012 Jeep SRT 6 POT Brembos are DIRECT fit for all 2011's - no brackets

Ill have part #'s soon

Epic good news. Scott - have you performed any measurements of the new calipers vs. stock? I'd be curious how much wider/taller the brakes are (for fitment purposes).

the 6 pistons are 14.5" long and they dont look to be as wide as the stock brakes. Ill have more when i install them.

So what your saying now is completely different that what you posted here;

WK2 SRT Brembo brake kit on an Overland

And it appears the Brembos will bolt right up the all 2011+ WK2 spindles.

Next question which was also discussed in the the above thread months ago, without any real answers..... will those giant Brembos and their 15" rotors clear the OEM 20" Overland Wheels??

Re: GAUGING interest in adding SRT8 Brembos to your wk2?

I was just relaying what an SRT engineer told me. I guess he didnt want the secret to get out. I have physically bolted the 6 pistons on my durango to test. All we'll need is calipers, rotors and the SRT splash shield. Im trying to order the rotors and splash shield from justforjeeps right now...but their dealerconnect is down. I will have all needed part numbers soon!

If the 6 pot Brembos bolt right up to the OEM 2011+ WK2 spindles with no modifications necessary and they aren't as wide as the OEM calipers there can be no reason at all that they wouldn't clear the OEM Overland wheels!

I think I've found my next upgrade!

Let me check first....just going by memory. But from memory they dont seem any wider. The problem with the 20's will be the 15" rotors.

Re: GAUGING interest in adding SRT8 Brembos to your wk2?

FYI-all parts needed have been ordered from justforjeeps. Justforjeeps will have to wait for them to come from the warehouse in Detroit.....so it may be wed-thurs before they get them to ship to me. Hopefully the first of next week I will have everything I need. FYI-the oem brake pads are on superduper backorder! LOL

How could that be a problem, the OEM SRT8 WK2's come with 20" wheels now! The 15" rotors fit fine with them how could another 20" OEM wheel not work?

The concavity of the wheel could be an issue. Even if the width is the same, the increased circumference of the rotor & caliper might cause it to make contact with points on the wheel. The cheap solution is a wheel spacer.

I'm just speculating, of course. Many BBK manufacturer's provide cardboard templates that allow you to test the clearance with your wheel set-up. It would be helpful if we could get one for a Brembo GT BBK kit w/ 15" rotors.

also the 20" wk2 wheels are 20x8...the SRt wheels are 20x10. Also...like MontB says below...could be just the design of the wheel. The 20" wk2 wheels look to be pretty flat spoke design.
