Aftermarket hitch height

IS the anyone with the non oem hitch with a 12ft enclosed trailer that could give me an idea on what Reese hitch drop down I need to get to give me the right ride height for a standard 12 enclosed trailer? Thanks Matt

There is no "standard"...you really need to measure the ball height of a particular trailer when it's blocked/jacked level to determine the correct drop for that trailer relative to the hitch receiver height on the vehicle. I got very lucky that both of my trailers (a small two horse trailer and a 5'x8' utility trailer happen to both require 4" drop with my factory installed hitch receiver, albeit with different ball sizes, but that's not always the case.

There's just too much variability to assume a ball height, so measure twice and buy once.

Well Jim i used a 2in reese hitch reversed so im going to get a 3 1/4 reese starter kit with keyed hitch pen
