air strut

has anybody had a front air strut go bad with out blowing out the air bag.from what i understand there is oil inside of it i could not find a cross section any where but i would emagine it is a strut filled with oil inside the air bag.i think one of mine might be bad i have a noise comming from up front some where has been in the dealer for a month in feb and we are still looking.

Re: air strut

Here is how an air shock is basically contructed it is easily a sealed bladder around the moving piston so if you have a leaking shock then the oil is inside the bag.
