The weight can be felt only accelerating from a dead stop.

if you put 1psi more in the rear than the front it reduces that effect.

steering feel is about the same or better.

now you can really flog this pig on mountain roads because in now accentuates the WK2 chassis dynamics.

Re: ALL NEW NITTO NT421Q in 265/50 VR 20

So...after just shy of 3000 miles (in the last week and a half...family vacation ) I'll add these comments. I LOVE these tires. They feel great on both dry and wet roads, are quiet and look really nice, too. I noticed a little "flat spotting" in the morning on the first couple of days, but that seemed to have gone away by the end of the trip. They also do pick up a few small stones in the tread occasionally, but that didn't worry me. The sidewalls are firmer so certain types of bumps are felt differently than the Forteras I had on previously.

The bottom line is that I'm very pleased with my decision to go with these Nitto tires. I look forward to see how they do when the weather turns cold...not that I'm hoping for that to happen any time soon. I prefer spring, summer and fall.

Jim thank you for the continued updates. I value your opinion it will be good to know how they shape up in other conditions. Not yet on cold, I'm not ready

Re: ALL NEW NITTO NT421Q in 265/50 VR 20

I'm loving these tires so far, Buckeye'. They are "fully broken in" at this point at about 3.5K miles since installation. And yes, it will be interesting to see if they live up to Nitto's comments about them when and if there is any white stuff on the ground. (I'd prefer to miss the white stuff, but that's not realistic... )

How have these tires handled the snow for you? I am considering these and the Cont. LX20's

What little snow we have had (maybe 2") I had a good ride...but we don't get that much "weather" here.

Re: ALL NEW NITTO NT421Q in 265/50 VR 20

18k on mine, the only issue is they do flat-spot when parked, especially during cold weather. Last week before I drove to Florida I almost thought I threw a balance weight. But I drove 75-80 for most of the trip and they ran smooth.

The thick sidewall saved me a few months ago. A guy in the left lane came over onto mine and I rubbed the curb to avoid him. With the low profile rims I thought I had made contact, but I suffered just a minor scuff on the tire rubber.

Only one small trip in snow, no issues.

Re: ALL NEW NITTO NT421Q in 265/50 VR 20

Trip to Snowshoe WV this past weekend was the test for these tires, now about 20k miles on them. Snow and ice on the roads for the last 30 miles or so both directions, heavy at times. And of course driving around up there in parking lots and such.

Coming in I took a switch back turn a little hot, about 25mph with the suggested dry pavement speed at 25 and slid a little wide but all four tires slipped at the same rate in snow mode and I kept the wheel cranked and powered out of it. That was pretty much the only time I had a problem.

I saw several cars that weren't making it up the hills. On my way back down I took the southern route to Cass and that's not maintained as well as the northern route to Marlington that has a lot more traffic. I maintained a steady 10-15 mph all the way down and saw one car slid off backwards at a 90 degree turn, and several not able to get up the hill in the opposite direction. This included a new GC, I assume with the OE tires. He had 4WD because I saw the front wheels turning and slipping. He was behind a 4WD Kia that was having a very difficult time at it.

So far, I'm also pleased with performance in winter, although we don't get a ton of snow.

That climb to the lodge must have been something. I have Mountain biked there and its a strain in the summer.

It's very easy when you take one of the chair lifts.

Well, I finally got to drive through a little more snow than an inch or two, given the drifting today. Very pleased with these tires.
