Altitude Wheels, Paint or Powder Coat?

I just picked up a set of OEM 20" Polished Aluminum wheels. I think they are the same as these LINK

Now I just need them black and they should be the same as the Altitude Wheels. LINK

So I've thought about Powder Coat, Paint or Plasti Dip. I have a friend that works for a autobody shop and could probably get me a good deal on painting them. My biggest question there is what color of black. Do I do the Brilliant Black that's on my car? I'm not sure if that would look weird on a rim.

I'm also just wondering if we know what the process that Jeep used to make the Altitude wheel. Is it a painted or powder coated wheel?

Re: Altitude Wheels, Paint or Powder Coat?

No ideas on the Altitude wheels? Whether they are painted or powder coated? And IF I get them painted, use Brilliant Black or some other black paint

Re: Altitude Wheels, Paint or Powder Coat?

Powder coat them gloss black - it will last much longer than paint and have a better finish. It'll probably cost you around $200, not including unmounting and remounting the tires.

The only problem is I can't find that kind of deal here. The cheapest and blasting + powder coating I can find is $100 post wheel. I'm pretty sure I could get them painted for like $150

That's ridiculous. Are you looking outside the automotive establishment? I found the best prices by looking up industrial powdercoaters - shops who mainly handle boat parts and playground equipment and things like that.
