Another spacer install thread. 1.25" Bora 2015 HA

Finally received my Bora 1.25" spacers and installed them. Takes a few weeks to receive them as I think they make them per order. The product itself seems top notch. Looks to be a very well made and quality piece. Simple installation that took me about 45 minutes start to finish. No hiccups or issues whatsoever. The new look didn't blow me away at first, but it looks good. I think it's one of those mods that takes a little getting used to, but once you do you end up loving it. I took it for a test drive and got up to about 65mph. No shimmying, vibrations or anything. Handling and ride feels no different than stock. So I am very happy with the mod! Installation instructions recommend removing the wheels and double checking torque after about 5 miles. I'll give it a couple days so it gets a couple heat/cool cycles and remove the wheels and retorque.

I removed the wheels and used the wire brush drill attachment to clean the brake rotor surface. Then place the spacer in position then twist on the supplied lugs. Tighten them evenly in a star pattern. Then put the wheel back on as you normally would.

Pics.

Looks great. Did you have to do a wheel alignment afterwards?

Why would you need a wheel alignment? You're not making changes to the suspension or the wheels.

Re: Another spacer install thread. 1.25" Bora 2015 HA

Just a heads up guys. There is a chance I might be selling these spacers. It's not that there is anything wrong, because there isn't, they are perfect and work flawlessly, but for some reason I just don't know if I like the look. I liked the flush look more with SRT sized wheels and tires and I think thats whats throwing me off having skinnier tires far out just takes getting used to. So anyway, there is a chance these will be for sale so keep an eye peeled if you are looking for a set to have quickly rather than order new and have to wait a month. If you are very serious PM me and we will discuss.

This is my same hesitation.

I'm thinking I may skip it, upgrade to the SRT sway bar and call it quits.

Hmmm...

I've seen no evidence the SRT sway is any different then the ones that come on our cars.

Well this mod has nothing to do with suspension or handling if that's what you're getting at. It's purely a cosmetic mod, atleast in my eyes. The reason I'm not 100% sure I like it I think is because the skinnier tires on the non-SRT models look a little weird being that far out without the "meet" to back it up. If I had SRT wheels/tires then that flush look looks right because there is a wider tire tucked in there.
I dunno, again it by no means looks bad, just not as great as I thought it would with the skinnier tires.

Thought it was stiffer with a different part #?

Yeah. Sorry I was not more clear. I was thinking spacers & SRT sway bar.

I think I agree with you. Better to have a wider wheel/tire to get a good stance vs spacers.

I may end up leaving it stock. It drives so silky smooth vs my Wranglers. Why mess with a good thing...I guess. LOL!!!

Yeah, I mean it drives no differently with the spacers so its still just as silky smooth, just a little different look. But you are right the WK2 looks great as is so sometimes there is no reason to mess with it :-)

Thanks for the pics & the updates! If the end result and appearance didn't turn out as you planned, then it's on to the next mod.
