Another tire and wheel thread.....

I used to have a JK with 33X12.5X18 mud grapplers on it. i ran 1.5" spidertrax spacers on a stock suspension. I Absolutely loved it....
Ideally what i want to do is put 285/65/18 trail grapplers on my WK2. What needs to be done for this set up? If i order the same JK spidertrax spacers would they fit?
Any sort of help would be incredible. Thank you in advance!!

Re: Another tire and wheel thread.....

You'll likely rub when the wheels get close to lock in the front. Even with spacers you'll still run in to that. I think the biggest you'll be able to go without a lift is 275/65.

Also, from what i've read here, the available spacers for the WK2 have not been successful for those that have tried them. You may be better off selling your oem 18s and picking up a set of aftermarket wheels in the offset you are looking for. Something 18x9 in a 25 or 35 offset. MB TKOs come to mind.

Re: Another tire and wheel thread.....

JK spacers do not fit. I have a set (for sale now) and tried it on the new GC and they don't work. The lugs are huge on the new Jeeps... 22 socket! Even my HD truck was a 21.

Re: Another tire and wheel thread.....

I talked to the guys at Spidertrax around May after trying my JK spacers and they had no plans for the GC but were aware of the larger lugs. Theres a guy on another forum that drilled his out to fit and is running 33s. He doesn't seem to have issues with it. I bought rims with a 25mm offset, I didn't like the stock 18s much anyway.

Re: Another tire and wheel thread.....

Ugh what a pain... It's tough going from mud grapplers to terra grapplers, such a big change. I really wanna run trail grapplers but I'd have to get new set of rims. Any of you guys owned cooper stt's. they look pretty nice but I don't think the dimensions work as well. If you were gonna choose the trail grapplers what rim makes the most sense? 17/18? HATE THIS STOCK FARTY TIRES!

Re: Another tire and wheel thread.....

Reason I ask all this because the overall diameter must be under 32", correct? Thanks again guys for replying. Such a huge help!

Duc, I have the overland wih 20" wheels. I didn't mention that. I apologize.

Re: Another tire and wheel thread.....

The smallest diameter you can go is 18's on the Overland to clear the brakes.
