Any members running 285/50/20 Yokohamas on stock 20's?

Overall diameter jumps to 31.2" and the width grows 3/4". I know that's pushing it for a 8" wide wheel. Its such a smooth riding tire and he stock Forteras are garbage!

Too wide for stock offset. Look for the post with the 275/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers, the guy has pictures of how close to the suspension the rubber is. I think the extra 5 mm would rub for sure.

Srt8:
Did you go with the 285 Yokohamas? I'm looking at the same tire and size for my 2012 overland. Was told by Tire rack and Discount Tire Dir. that the 285 50 20 would fit on the 8" wheel. Apparently "the book" says 285/50/20 will fit 8" to 10'" wheels. Overal OD will be 31.2" a fraction above recommended, but should be OK. Wondering about tire bulge and wear...? Definitely prefer the 285 over the stock 265 not to mention the better tire overall than the stock GY's...

Yes that's what I'm running. There is some ballooning from the width but I'm liking the look and ride comfort. My DT told me I'd.be fine. That's why they put them on and warranted them. If I were to push it like an SRT8 in the corners I wouldn't plus size due to difference in the wheel and tire width.

Re: Any members running 285/50/20 Yokohamas on stock 20's?

I'm thinking about getting these too. No issues with rubbing in all Quadralift modes?

I know the sidewall isn't as high as some of the 275/55/20s that others are running, but curious if the extra width causes any issues when turned at full lock in various QL settings.

Thanks!
