Anybody tried 265 65 R18?

Has anyone tried this size they measure 31.5 x 10.7. I see alot of 275 65 r18 that look a little stuffed under there. That tire measures 32 x 11.5. I am thinking of having my commercial tire guy drop them at the dealer before I pick it up, I don't even want to see it with those crap lattitude tires on there.

They will fit...people here have run bigger/wider with NO issues. Use the search function....plenty of info

Re: Anybody tried 265 65 R18?

Thank you, I did end up getting the Blizzak DM-V1 in that size they are soofffft you can litterally feel the tires spread appart when accelerating. Snow coming tonight so I'll check them out on un-plowed asphalt and see what the tire/QDII combination really has! I think a set of the 20's with street tires may be in order for next spring.

Re: Anybody tried 265 65 R18?

I just had the 265/65/18 GY Silent Armors installed today. They look and fit great, and the vehicle now looks like a proper Jeep! Only issue was with the spare; the tire fit in the spare compartment fine, but the bins would not fully seat and the lid would not fully close. With bins removed it fit perfect. More room for stuff in there w/o bins anyway! But I'll play with the spare positioning tomorrow and see if I can get them to fit properly.

To follow up: The 265/65/18 Silent Armor spare (which, incidentally, does fit on the 7" spare rim) fits the spare compartment very snugly. However, by wiggling it around a fraction of an inch or so, I was able to get one bin to fit and the lid to fully close. No chance at all for the second bin.

Re: Anybody tried 265 65 R18?

No functioning camera at the moment. I plan to do numerous appearance mods to my Overland in the coming months: debadging, dechroming, painting the wheels, etc., and will post pics when finished.

I personally think the 265/65/18 tire size, especially with the all-terrain look of the GY Silent Armors, might be the best overall appearance fit in a larger tire for the WK2, especially if you want to carry a full-sized spare. I only put about 100 miles on the original Michelin Lattitudes (which are excellent highway tires) before trading them in with Discount Tire, but so far the GYs more aggressive tread seems to handle very similarly, and to be almost as quiet as the Michelins. And I don't have to buy an extra set of winter tires to change every year!
