Benifits of 18 over 20 inch trims / tyres

Hi

We have signed up for a new Grand Cherokee Ltd diesel. Will be used to tow a 3,500kg van with a 300 kg ball weight. Dealer has offered 18 inch Laredo rims / tyres in lieu of the std 20 inch rims/tyres.

Any benefits in ride / handling etc if we changed over?

Vehicle will not be used off road but soley as a tug for the van.

regards

neil

Re: Benifits of 18 over 20 inch trims / tyres

I asked the same question before I got mine, see that thread here - Wheels: 20' vs 18"

All those answers are still relevant.

Is there a reason the dealer is offering this to you? Have they said they will give you a discount? They will sell them to someone who buys a Laredo but wants 20s for an extra charge. I chose the 18s solely for cosmetic reasons, but negotiated a discount for doing it.
If you chose to swap to 18s, make sure you get something for it, if you have signed a contract already, then get them to include extras, mud flaps, cargo liner, front window tint, fitting of break controller etc..

Also, did you mean to have your email address as your username?
