Black Wheels

I've been searching high and low for a black wheel (20") that i plan on adding an all season tire to or maybe even an AT tire (cooper zeon).

I like the KMC Slide style (Spoke style). Any other recommendations?

Re: Black Wheels

There are a few out there. How many spokes do you prefer? 5, 6, 7, 8, 10?

Re: Black Wheels

I'm pretty open on the amount of spokes.

The Cherokee is being picked up tomorrow and I am pretty sure I have the stock 18's already sold.

I'm on the fence with an all season tire or an AT tire. Any ideas what an AT tire would do to my gas mileage (Ecodiesel)? I don't mind a MPG or two drop but want to avoid a 5mpg or so drop. I'm coming from a lifted F15O Ecoboost with 35's that was getting 12 mpg.

Re: Black Wheels

You will probably lose 1 or 2 mpg with an AT tire, not a big loss. Are you planning on staying with a stock size tire or upsizing?

Re: Black Wheels

I currently have the stock 18s but plan on upgrading to 20s. Wonder how heavy the stock 20s are compared to the KMC slides with coopers or if anyone else has this set up...

Re: Black Wheels

Actually, I was trying to see if you were planning on going with the stock 265/50R20 tire (30.5") or if you were going to go bigger.

Re: Black Wheels

I decided on 20 x 9 XD Slides. I'm still paging through the tire threads but was wondering if you knew off hand what the largest tire size is that I can add to complete stock (no lift, no level, etc...).

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Black Wheels

Unfortunately, there is no real answer to that question. There seems to be alot of variation even across identical models. Do you have the standard coil suspension or the quadra-lift?

For the standard coil suspension, some have fit 275/55R20 tires without any issues. Some have had rubbing with that size. The 285/50R20 seems to fit in every thread I read about them. I don't recall anyone having an issue with that size.

I went with the 275/55R20 myself and it fit fine until I added the 1.25" spacers, then I had a slight rub on big dips at high speed and on some sand trails. I have since added the 1.75" leveling kit and have no more rub.

Keep reading those threads I pm'd you and others that are here on the forum. There is enough info to keep your head spinning for quite a while. In the end it's going to come down to what tire you like and what type of driving you plan on doing.

Re: Black Wheels

No, I don't recognize that tire. Check out the Cooper Zeon and Nitto Terra Grapler. They are both available in the two sizes I mentioned.
