OK so my 2011 confirmed on booster recall list. Today go to do a holiday liquor run brake is hard like after pumping it with vehicle off while vehicle is running. I have to put at least 50-60lbs force for full braking. I checked check valve etc so I'm guessing booster is bad. From reading the recall bulletin they will replace if it shows excessive corrosion and fails the pressure test. I don't see corrosion but almost certain it will fail pressure test. Would they still replace it for failing even if theirs no corrosion? I don't have the cash to fork over for this unexpected repair out of pocket and worried since its not cold and its not corroded they may deny it. After all its possible the booster leaked in winter and now the damage is apparent.
What a coincidence. See a recall and soon after have a similar problem. Whether or not it is covered, if the brakes aren't working properly you need to get them fixed. Make an appointment and see what they have to say.
Before recall came to light there was a few occasions in deep freeze brakes acted like they do now bit was for a few moments. Played it off recall came to light. I didn't see corrosion so was gonna ride it out as every deal is backlogged on this repair. Yes gotta get fixed but timing could of been better. But if its covered its a great coincidence. Albeit I'd rather be able to go out for holiday. Good thing I live on beach
