Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

my daily driver is a 2008 jgc limited, hemi, had the rear pads and rotors changed at 95000 and i changed the front pads only at 175000 and i still had about 5000 miles left. thats a combo of city and highway. my dealer couldn't believe how long they lasted and asked if i ever stopped. i just try to anticipate stops

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

My 2012 5.7, 92,000 Klms, finally needs brakes. Any body know who makes the OEM pads, as they are twice the price of others, but as the OEMs have been fantastic, no dust, great stoping and lasted, I don't want to have any less quality?

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

I'm selling my OEM rotors and pads with 16k miles since I went to Brembos.

I'm in the Chicago area if anyone is interested. No shipping.

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

I'm now over 57K and still have plenty of brakes... Since much of that is highway mileage, they don't really get used that much. LOL

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

Brake life, just like fuel economy, is impacted by how a vehicle is used and how a driver, well...drives. I get good fuel economy overall and my brakes last a long time because I have a light foot and tend to slow long before having to stop. My spouse, however, has replaced her brakes at about 50K and gets noticeably lower fuel economy than I do when I drive her vehicle. It is what it is...

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

An over looked issue is brake fluid. It collects a lot of water over time and should be changed. I use a large syringe to suck most of the fluid from the master and replace it with fresh fluid during every brake service I do. Or you can bleed them a little to be sure all the old fluid is out if you have a helper.

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

Five years to the month and the Battery Replace warning flashed on the display. Had the battery tested this week and the shop confirmed it was time to replace the battery with 78,000 miles on the odometer. Looks like a very good replacement battery will cost approximately $200. Now to find one that doesn't already 6-8 months shelf life before I install it.

Re: Brake Life & The Grand Cherokee WK2 ?

I have a 2012 V6 with 17" wheels and it's time to get the brakes addressed, got some squeaking going on. Are these the correct parts to get?
