3) There are strong feelings that this is an erroneous position and that the SRT8 Brembo 6 piston brakes CAN be appropriately used on the WK2 with 20X10 wheels.
4) I intend to contact Brembo to determine the basis for their alleged position.

Please tell me what I'm missing. Thanks.

Re: Brembo Brakes

Brembo DOESNT make calipers for the NON-SRT Grand Cherokee wk2. BUT...they make them for the wk2 SRT...which has the EXACT same braking systems as the NON-SRT minus the Brembo calipers, rotors, brake lines and dust shield. The wk2 nonSRT uses the same brake booster, ABS system and so on as the wk2 SRT. Many have had the wk2 SRT brembo system on their NONSRT wk2 for thousands and thousands of miles. Durangos have also had the wk2 SRT brembos for thuosands of miles and atleast 2 years. Those idiots at the dealership have NO IDEA what they are talking about....which is pretty typical of a dealership service dept. these days. If they cant hook up a computer to diagnose or replace a part...then they deny it can happen. Listen to your jeep brothers here....MANY, MANY have done it for YEARS with much success! Brembo will tell you nothing.....they do not make a brembo system for the NONSRT wk2.

Thank you for the most technical answer I have seen thus far. So, ...
1) There seems to be passionate consensus that you can simply take the SRT8 brakes and place them on a WK2 with 20X10 wheels.
2) Two Jeep dealerships have indicated to me that this it not an appropriate modification using the SRT8 Brembo 6 piston brake calipers. One reports 2nd hand that Brembo indicates that they do not manufacture Brembo brakes for the WK2.
3) There are strong feelings that this is an erroneous position and that the SRT8 Brembo 6 piston brakes CAN be appropriately used on the WK2 with 20X10 wheels.
4) I intend to contact Brembo to determine the basis for their alleged position.
5) Dealerships can't tell you why it won't work, and Brembo won't be able to tell you either.
6) Guys have been doing it for thousands of miles and it works fine - so this is the most reliable indicator.

That is why I try to run off the thread hoverers who simply want to give an authoritative opinion on every issue whether they know the answer or not. I will still contact Brembo to see if I can determine more. Thank you.

Feel free to continue to get the run around with dealerships/brembo or listen to probably one of the most knowledgeable person on this forum.

But hey this is my opinion..

Just remember if Brembo does tell you they make brakes for the SRT, it doesn't mean they really do.

But hey this is my opinion..
I'll do both - and while I love opinions as much as the next guy, I'm looking for facts.

Yes Sir - I have seen the photos and again appreciate all of the productive comments. There is no doubt in my mind that these can be placed on the vehicle, but to state the obvious, the brakes are the most important part of the vehicle. I am mystified as to why the dealers and Brembo have reservations over this. Perhaps it is as suggested, they are just slaves to the computer part data system that says they are not made specifically for the vehicle. I'm determined to find out. The fact that I am engaging in further research should not be seen as an insult to anyone's position on the issue. Thanks.

Re: Brembo Brakes

Brembos are out of my price range for now so I'm thinking of painting them. Should I paint the bracket (clip) pointed out in this photo or leave it original?
