Brembos squealing

Left rear won't stop squealing . Tried different pads didn't help. Only squeals when driving very slow 2-5 mph with foot off the brake. I have heated them up several times and it doesn't help. Very annoying and embarrassing. People say good looking brakes and when I drive off they squeal. What to do??? Could it be the E-brake?

Re: Brembos squealing

Not sure I don't have that issue at all with Hawk Performance Ceramic pads. But it might be something else like you say.

When u switched pads did u remove the glazing from the old pads? What pads have you tried. Never use ceramic on the jeep srt...little tip from the brembo engineers.

Re: Brembos squealing

No I don't think they did. How do you remove the glaze from a Brembo slotted rotor? My first set of pads were Hawk HPS and they sqealed so I change them to StopTech and they still sqealed. Only the left rear. Why is it only one wheel? Could the caliper be bad and not releasing?

Re: Brembos squealing

Remove by hitting both sides of rotor with sandpaper...but yeah...if it's one...could be caliper or something. Sorry missed it was just one.

Re: Brembos squealing

Thanks,is there any way to test the caliper to see if it's working properly? Should it be bled again?

Re: Brembos squealing

I'm having it taken off tomorrow. How can you tell if a piston is bad? Should the pads be sanded also?

Re: Brembos squealing

I've only done the sanding of rotors whem.swapping pads. I guess you could try it. But if one of the pistons.is is bad...you will have uneven wear and other signs. It will be noticeable.

Re: Brembos squealing

"String" you can also try some of the Loctite antisqueal paste.

The stock compound on SRT brakes is semi metallic like Scott says. Ceramic compound pad overall don't work well with Brembos.

I normally tell people not to change brake pad compounds unless they swap the rotors too.

I fear that the stop tech pad may be the carbon fiber ceramic which may be an issue as well.

Besides the possibility of the caliper being stuck it could also be a warped rotor.

sometimes we get a little over zealous with trying to clean our trucks when the brakes are still hot.

So it could be a myriad of things.

Re: Brembos squealing

I thought the stop tech pads were recommended for the rears?
