I was using Bridgestone 694s on my previous car. The 697 seems to have replaced these. They were much better than factory tires but did not provide the mileage. The dilema - grip versus duration. I thought the grip avoided me paying the insurance excess for crash damage.
With the GC I decided to go for the Cooper Discovery A/T3. Reports have them as a great all rounder with more mileage. So far I am impressed after a drive to Fraser Island QLD. They are at least as good as the Bridgestones and hopefully better duration.
