Caliper bracket bolt

What size is the two caliper bracket bolts. I'm not talking about the sliding pins but the two bolts that I need to remove to replace the rotors

Re: Caliper bracket bolt

I had them off not too long ago, I think it was a 15mm. Although something is saying it could be 14mm.

Re: Caliper bracket bolt

Just did the front brakes on my 2012 and the two bolts on the caliper brackets were 13/16".

Re: Caliper bracket bolt

Are you asking the tread size or what size socket u need to remove them? its metric and while 13/16 will work the actual size is metric and its a 18 or 19mm

Re: Caliper bracket bolt

Keep getting different answers. 19 and 19 mm are way different from 14 or 15 mm.

Re: Caliper bracket bolt

On my 2011 X, the caliper bracket bolts, bolt #1 in that diagram is a 21mm. Also the sliding pins are ridiculous, I ended up using a 7/16 hex and it was definitely wrong, I think it's an 11mm, it's 100% not a 10mm as I keep hearing.
Did the HD fronts yesterday while in need of a brake job, a twenty minute job was a two hour pita because I kept getting wrong info. Still would like to know the correct tool for the sliding pins.

Re: Caliper bracket bolt

Just crawl under neath with a couple different sockets and you'll find out pretty quick which size is accurate.
