I think I have to agree with you. Just had to ask. Do you have to remove the calipers to paint them? Any suggestion on what to use? I've seen some 2 part epoxy paint and spray cans.
I would also suggest Painting the calipers over getting those covers. Who wants a piece of plastic on the number one safety device on your vehicle, possible getting jammed or gunked with stuff or creating excessive heat.
anyways I have seen people not remove the caliper to paint them, they have just taped everything off. Get some nice high temp high gloss paint
From experience, my cousin used spray can caliper paint which doesn't appear to last as long or looks as vibrant as the type you apply with a brush. I used the brush type on my 2012 Overland which allowed me to make it more uniform and thick without having to tape anything off. I've attached photos. However this time around on my 14 I went with the aluminum mgp covers :/. One day in the future I will replace those with the real McCoy
I've been planning on doing mine just need to find time as it's tedious taking each wheel off then having the car sit overnight to dry. When I do it I'm going with G2 which is more of an epoxy so it holds up well.
Does anyone have a close up of the G2 painted ones. I want to see what you painted and what you left original. Not sure if I should paint the clips or leave them original?
I'm sorry but I don't understand the covers at all. It makes your brakes look bigger and like brembos even though that's not what you have??? If you want the color or style then pain them but please don't put yourself, your passengers, and other people on the road in jeopardy because you want to pretend to have something you don't. All I can think about is the old river threads with people putting M badges on 3 series and the 240 gang putting silva badges.
If that's what you want save up and get the real thing. No need to pretend to have something you don't.
