My money is on it rubbing quite a bit. If you go off road at all, I'd say get the level or lift and don't stress the clearance. It's worth the investment IMO.
its very close and i havent driven in all situations but they cleared on my car with an 18x8 +50 ( stock for me was 18x8 +56 ) at full lock both directions while parked.
I am running 275/65R18 GY Duratracs on 18×9 +18 wheels and I have alot of rubbing (so much so that the fasteners on my fender lining wore off from the tire rubbing them and now the back side of the front fender liner has curled ub and rubs too). Mine is a Summit with QL. Personally if I had to do it again I would slightly smaller on the tires.
Hey guys , thanks a bunch for the feedback. I have done a bit of research between this board and "the other forum" and determined that it would be stupid to do this setup without a lift.
My current decision is...
A) Eibach All Terrain 2" Lift (shocks + springs) ... and maybe RRO upper control arms... I am able to get really good pricing on the Eibach kit through a friend
B) RRO 2.5" Lift....and RRO upper control arms... now this kit appears to be a huge pain in the ass to install up front - there aren't very clear step by step installation guides available on the forums. One forum user indicated that they dropped out their entire front axle to get this installed.
I can only see between the 2 forums only maybe 2 or 3 individuals have gone with Eibach
I feel like either kit is going to need those RRO control arms to run these tires and properly align the vehicle afterwards. RRO estentially stated the OEM control arms is a "when" not "if" situation as to when they will fail anyway.
2012 with RRO 2.5" lift, 1" BORA wheel spacers, 285/65R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers, KMC 18x9 30 offset. I had extreme rubbing before the lift, with just the leveling kit. I have my RRO leveling kit for sale if you're interested.

I hear ya. I'm trying to replicate those 3 concepts to a degree, but wish Jeep had at least offered the flares. Picked up a set of bushwackers that I'm considering filling the bolt areas since they're only cosmetic.
What's up bud I would highly recommend a leveling kit I'm running P275/65/18 Nitto G2s with some 18X9 +12 offset Vision Rocker wheels and I get no rub at all I will post pics tomorrow
Hi I'm new to the jeep community and on here. I'm planning on running wheels that are the same 18x9 size and 0 offset but was wondering if these tires worked with the set up? I currently have a 2" leveling kit installed on my wk2.
I'm not sure on the wheel offset but I run 275/65/18 tires on my stock Trailhawk wheels with the Quadra-Lift suspension. Its tight but they fit. I had a bit of rub on the front side of the rear driver inner fender liner. If your worried I'd think a 255/70/18 would fit since its the same diameter but narrower......or a 265/65/18.
Oh ok, thank you for the insight on this out really helps! I'll look into the 255 and 265 tires. Do you think either of these sizes would work if I do the pinch mod and still have some room? Once again thanks for your help.
Going too large on the tire and offset really takes away from the functionality and drivability of the JGC. I went with the 265 65 R18 Falken wildpeaks with the RRO lift level kit 2.5 front and 1" rear. I gained a considerable amount of clearance and looks great but doesn't mess with the handling and no rubbing at all. It still looks great and very aggressive yet don't have to worry about rubbing especially if you actually go off road and compress the suspension. Last thing I want to do is have to trim or rip up the inner wheel wells. You want to still have some clearance in that wheel well, you don't want to completely fill it up.
Thank you uscgmac. I am looking at switching out the rough country level kit for the RRO. Seems to allow for a decently sized tire without compromising the suspension and handling. I might do that first before throwing on the wheels and looking for tires.
For those interested, I was able to run 265/65R18 Falken Wildpeak AT3s on MB TKO 18x9 wheels with 0 offset. I'm currently using the rough country level kit but will upgrade to the RRO level. There was some plastic trimming that was done along with the pinch weld mod. Other than that everything's been going fine with it. Definitely pleased with the overall handling and look.
