Can this tire be fixed?

Guys,

What do you think of this nail? I know it is starting to get close to the area where it cannot be fixed. Just seeing what others think before I go to the shop this week.

Re: Can this nail be fixed?

I don't know if the nail can be fixed, but the tire can be repaired. IMHO

Re: Can this nail be fixed?

No problem plug or patch. Patch (on the inside) is better.

I don't think the nail can be fixed. It's been turned into a screw.

Tire should be fine though.

Re: Can this nail be fixed?

Yes , your tire is screwed, but repairable. Get it patched from the inside, and have the balance checked. Good as new. My experience has been that not all plugs are created equal.

Re: Can this nail be fixed?

NTB won't touch it. Goodyear will. I've had much worse fixed by a local GY.

My tire got plugged in the fall! No problem.

Re: Can this nail be fixed?

So in the same vein, I've found that my Passenger rear tire has not one, but 2 screws in it.

Normally, I would expect that this would lead to a very dead Goodyear tire (it's at about 30k now), but they seem to be holding up fine. No air leaks, no change in ride, its like they're not even there.

I haven't had any good experiences with Goodyear tires up to this point. This has been the best set out of 4 I've had so far. Or rather, the least bad. I wouldn't call them "great", but they've been ok.
