Can You Use Stock Rotors With Brembo's?
I own a 2011 Overland that I'm putting the finishing touches on getting it the way I like it and the finishing mod is adding the Brembo's to the set of OEM SRT8 WK2 wheels I added about a month ago.
I've got the entire parts list thanks to Scott and his EXTREMELY HELPFUL posts on doing this mod, but when sourcing everything out to buy parts I notices I have prob $1000 in new rotors alone.
It's not that it's that big of a deal but since the Overland comes with 20's (They will continue as my winter wheels) and the SRT's will be the summer set - I'm curious if you need to swap out the rotors or not when doing the Brembo Caliper Conversion?
Any experienced Brake guys in this forum? FWIW - I have 55K on the Overland and it's my main work vehicle (i'm in sales and drive 600-800 miles/week).
I liked the style and look of the SRT but wanted the ride of the Overland with as much as I drive so any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
For those interested, here's my mod list to date:
2011 Overland (Black on Black)
-Mopar Chrome Package
-20% Fronts and 50% Windshield
-2012 SRT8 OEM Wheels
-Putco LEDs (Both White Reverses, License Place, and DRLs)
-Extreme Digital Fog Light Kit (4300K as recommended by Xenon Depot)
-Debadged the "Overland Badge" so all it says now is "4 x 4"
-And soon to finish her off, the Brembo's all the way around...
Will take pics once finished as I am in love with how she looks now. It's a beautiful black and chrome look.
So - if anyone can help shed some light as to what rotors come stock on the Overlands and if they'll work or if I have to order those too - the help is appreciated.
