Change OEM Tire Size w/o mods?

Hey guys,

I pretty much have my heart set on buying Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor Tires in the stock size of 265/60r18 for my 2011 wk2 Limited and I finally did on cyber Monday. However, The website canceled my order because the tire was backordered and every other website is about $100 to $200 more in price.

Is there a close size to stock I can buy where I don't have to change anything? This way maybe I can still get the deal and the tire I want.

Thanks

Check out this thread: Warranty BS!!! - JeepForum.com

This is why I am worried about going with a larger size. What does everyone think?

Must be a hugh demand for them for JGC Trailhawks as they are arriving rapidly at the dealers and they all have GY Silent Armor in 265/60/18 size.

Many cyber monday deals have limited stock and sell out. Pretty common.

Discounttires.com has them at $200 a tire which you cant find anywhere for that price plus $80 mail in rebate and then cybermonday had free shipping. They are willing to give me free shipping if i go with another tire.

You could go with 265/65/18, it is only 1" taller than stock, and will fit without modifications. I run the same height tire, but wider 285/60/18 on aftermarket wheels. Only issue is speedo error, it will ready about 1-2mph slow.

Re: Change OEM Tire Size w/o mods?

I end up researching the crap out of tires and decided on the Cooper AT3's so I hope I like them. Thanks for your help though.

Re: Change OEM Tire Size w/o mods?

The Coopers will be good. DTD always has free shipping. They always have nice rebates this time of year as well. Last year I bought my winter set for my car. I was thinking of stepping up to a 265/65/18, but I'd hate to lose any power/gearing. The V6 is already geared way too high.
