Re: Change out spare for full size tire?

That's a good thought Dan and I'll probably try to secure it somehow. However, I use my car for sales and the entire cargo area is packed full of catalogs, samples etc. So a passenger would get whacked by that stuff before the tire ever had a change to come out. Plus, when the cargo floor door is closed securely, it doesn't open uless you pull up on the lock. As you said, the tire coming out (whether secured or not) is an unlikely scenario.

Re: Change out spare for full size tire?

^^^ I wouldn't rely on the meager hatch or the two front clips to hold an unsecured tire in say a rollover or whatever. A very low probably event but we've all seen utterly totaled cars and the people walk freely away...hate for a loose very heavy tire to get ya! Something as heavy as a spare tire carries a lot of momentum and can do tremendous damage. Just play it safe and secure it...
