Cheap crap

These black plastic caps for the wheels are so poorly made. I already lost 2 that just fell off and the 3rd just broke while I was scrubbing my wheels and when I took it out I found this. Has anyone else experienced this? I had to pay 60 bucks for 3 new ones.

Re: Cheap crap

I have not experienced this at all. Ofcourse I haven't had to have tires changed on any of my WK2's so maybe thats why. They have all been in place and solid no issues.

Cheap crap

Something doesn't sound right. Have you had new tires mounted or your tires rebalanced recently?

Tire shops are notorious for popping them out incorrectly, which could lead to broken tabs, which in turn could cause them to fly off at random.

Re: Cheap crap

Guys i have not touched the tires since i got the jeep 4 months ago. No one has. Haven't been to a tire shop or anything. Two of them just flew off while i was driving and the other came out while i was cleaning my wheels as i stated before. I did happen to find one on my street and its the same as the picture, plastic tabs broke on 2 areas, the other side is fine

Re: Cheap crap

Wait ..why would you take off the center caps to rotate wheels or mount new tires? There is no reason to take them off.

Any chance kids were trying to jack them? Awhile back by me, tire valve stem caps were being swiped...they found some 12 yrs old had hundreds of them...made a school project out of it and got busted

Hmm ...I remember collecting chrome valve stems for my bike when I was a kid. Must be a Chicago thing.
