Nearly a kilobuck is a heck of a lot to spend on just the color change. $800 will get you a set of the black 18" rims, and they're almost as sweet looking (and you get to keep the originals too).

Yep you could do all those things and they might "look" almost as good but this is a 3 step process that will withstand a lot of abuse. In this case you literally get what you pay for and $250 / wheel for this process isn't too bad. Then again I have been know to spend stupid money on forged modular wheels on my sports cars so I'm a bit jaded.
BTW, I've seen some of those $150 chrome jobs, those wouldn't get within 100 yards of my new Jeep.
