Follow up - these perform awesome in the rain! We had torrential downpours here a couple weeks ago and these were very sure footed at hi-way speeds i.e. 70 MPH+ Very confident ride in the heavy rain

Few thousand miles now and same thing to report. Tires still look like new and ride great intown, on the highway, and on the country roads. Hate the rocks that get caught in the tread, but oh well.

Not an uncommon issue...my Nitto NT421Qs pick up small stones a little, too.

Do you drive them in the snow at all? If so, how do they perform?

Re: Continental CrossContact LX20 265/50R20

My dad has these on a Forester (400 miles old) and he reported a very solid drive in this morning's snow and un-plowed back streets. I have the Continental Extreme Contacts DWS on the turbo Subaru and they too are fantastical all season tires with snow performance on par with the lesser rated winter tires but stellar 3 season performance otherwise.

Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus's (265-50-20)

Update: Round trip from Payson (5,000'), AZ to Moab, Utah (4,600') and a summit of 7,700' I got 23.5 mpg. Highway speeds from 58 to 76. Handled great. I was very surprised. 460 pounds of adults and dog and another 100 lbs of gear. Probably 560 loaded up.

Just got 10" of snow. No problem on level driveway. Would not go up a very steep and slightly off camber section of the driveway (12 degrees) until the next day (weird). I would rate the tires slightly above average in deep snow.

Finally got some good snow here in VA last night. Had to go pick up some friends late last night. These are clearly not winter/snow tires, but i give them an 8/10 for snow. Got through snow banks with no issue, up and down hills with no issue. I didn't get above 30 to 35 at any point. I did not need to and started not to feel in control.

Overall still great in dry, rain, snow, and sand. Still no big signs of wear after 8k and first rotation.

What issue was this in CR? I've got a report of a lot of the same tires in Nov 2014 issue with different results and ratings. Thanks

I just went through some back issues and it looks like the test results the you posted were from 2013 or earlier. The latest test was more critical of winter and handling performance. That's crazy, how can the same tire change that much in a year or so? I think that this speaks to the subjectivity of CR testing more than the performance of the tires. The best information seems to come from WK2 owners with real experience.

Re: Continental CrossContact LX20 265/50R20

Well, my Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus's (265-50-20) still are performing well on my 2014 Summit. Exceptional mileage. Quiet and smooth. Perform well in rain and dry. Not really a snow tire, but adequate. I love these tires. I do know they changed the formula on the Plus version. Be careful what you buy.

Re: Continental CrossContact LX20 265/50R20

quick update: 36,000 miles and @ 5/32 all around. Always properly inflated and rotated on schedule. Ride is still awesome but disappointed in the tread life. These come with a 70K / 6 year warranty. Not jumping through hoops to get the nominal prorated credit - will buy another brand of 20" tires next summer and add a dedicated set of snow tires this fall. At current rate of wear these will need replacement i.e. 2/32 @ 54,000 / 3 years. For warmer climate regions I feel these are a good choice but here in MN not a good all season option.

Based on reported mileage of others with different brand tires the ECO plus designation made no difference in gained MPG. Averaged 20-21 on hwy @ above average posted speeds

PS - still perform well in rain @ 5/32
