Question Cooper AT3 on 20"

Anyone on this forum has experience of fitting the Discoverer AT3 with size 275/55/20 on their OEM 20" wheels? Looking at the tire spec the AT3 has a midget wider cross section of 10.95" vs 10.9" on the stock GY Fortera HL. The overall tire diameter of 31.94" is still quite a bit more than 30.5" on the GY though. Looks like it may fit alright but may also make sense to put in a 1/4" spacer there for the peace of mind.

I know someone has successfully mounted 275/55/20 tires on their stock 20" wheels, but judging from the pictures they seem to be really really TIGHT fit. I wouldn't able to sleep over it seeing how much clearance room off the wheel well and the strut/bolts.

I have bridgestone dueler revo a/t's and they fit perfectly fine without any rubbing and in my opinion it's not a tight fit, it just fits fine

Re: Cooper AT3 on 20"

So you have the older Revo instead of the Revo2?

Yep, apparently they had the revo 2 with a softer compound which I read a lot of people didnt like so I got the older revo plus it was a lot cheaper and readily available I have pics posted in another thread

Re: Cooper AT3 on 20"

I thought the manufacturer would discontinue the old model when they bring out a new one. Anyway how much are the old tires selling for at the 275/55/20 size? Would you have any experience with the Nitto Terra Grappler by any chance? They are about the only AT's out there with the 265/50/20 fitment.

Re: Cooper AT3 on 20"

My buddy had a set in 18's and liked them. I was going to get the 20's but got a good deal on the GY fortera's...

From what I can tell, the TG's are going to be over 200 for just the tire.

Wha's the size you were planning to get? They don't make 265/50/20.

Re: Cooper AT3 on 20"

They do, I am sorry I didin't make myself clear and spoke in a riddle.

I meant I was going to buy the Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/50r20's and got a good price on the goodyear fortera hl's. Since I don't mind the GY's and I do a lot of highway driving, I went with them. Rumor has it GY will be rasing prices and if that is so, I will go Nitto next time.
