Re: DIY homemade air suspension links. Install with pics!

Jim...thanks for the concern. I read the whole thread and have no intentions on slamming the jeep. Just trying to understand how JTS picked his cut lengths.

I was actually quite concerned initially with the effects of this change on camber. I'm sticking with lengths that JTS suggested...I like the height of his truck. The grey one is too low. The red one is absurdly low for a daily driven jeep!

I wi be running this truck all winter towing snowmobile trailers around New York state. So I can't get too carried away. In fact I might swap the stock links back in when I put my snow tires on.

Here are my links. Be exact with your measurments!!

Fyi...when reading through JTS's previous posts...his dimensions are the overall length of the link...not the center to center distance!

I thought about using loctite as I couldn't get the jam as snug as I really wanted to but I was too anxious to get them on...plus I was out!😳

Don't forget that on the front, the ball sockets need to face the same direction.

Re: DIY homemade air suspension links. Install with pics!

Nice job, your links look perfect. Yeah front sockets face same way, rears are opposite. As mentioned yes my dimensions are total length from tip to tip. I did not use thread locker. I was able to get the nuts snug enough that I was fine with it, plus even if they did come loose it's not possible for the sockets to rotate since they are attached to the suspension.
As far as the threaded rod, I do not recall the sockets bottoming out at my lengths, but like you said if that happens just simply trim the rod a little more.
Mine are still going strong, no negative effects, and the ride remains unchanged. Love this mod!

Here's mine with the rears spun down 1 thread from 2.5". It's on more level ground now so it doesn't look as low.

Re: DIY homemade air suspension links. Install with pics!

Hey guys just an FYI, I have decided to start making these again. So if anyone wants them and doesn't want to bother with dealing with getting all the parts together and making them yourself, or spending $325+ on the AR links shoot me a PM. Price is $150 shipped 2-day priority. These will not work on 2016 models, but so far my links have successfully worked on 2012-2015 Overland, Summit, High Altitude models.

So this is completely temporary? If i want a lower stance on the road but occasionally would like to do some light off roading i can just go right back to stock? This doesn't have any negative effect on the suspension components? Also do you know if the setup would be the same for a 2012? Sorry for the 20 questions...
