Re: DIY homemade air suspension links. Install with pics!

I definitely have camber issues on mine. Just went thru a set of tires. So hopefully my new set lasts longer. 5000miles and my tires were shot. Took it for an alignment and camber was maxed out. I just pull the fuse when i go on the hwy and put it in either off road 1 or normal. Which is still pretty low but the camber isnt so bad.

I'm not sure what is wrong with bardugles car, but trust me you can do a 3/4" to 1" inch drop and things will not burn up tires in 5,000 miles especially on a suspension that is designed to change height while driving. I don't even see how thats possible.
Remember, like I said before according to people on this site, the Jeep is aligned in "aero" mode. By lowering the Jeep 3/4" to 1" all around, assuming most of your driving is in normal ride height, you are now driving your Jeep closer to aligned specs.
The mod is so easy to do I just don't see any downside whatsoever. No signs of unusual tire wear for me as of yet. Takes 5 minutes to swap all 4 links, no tools required.

Ahh ok I was gonna say I just don't see how the minimal 3/4" to 1" drop I did could possibly have such an effect to destroy a set of tires. But yeah when its slammed its gonna chew up tires...like you said gotta play to play LOL. Honestly I don't even know how you were able to get it that low, Mine dropped an inch at most and that was at bear minimum before the computer said suspension error.

Leadfoot,
Its really a perfectly fine mod to do there will be no issues and you'll love it. Trust me!

Lots of tinkering. Took a while to find the desired height so the sensors and warnings didnt go off.

Why not? Takes 5 minutes to install, another 5 to swap the originals back on. Or even if you never put the originals back on no one would ever even notice.

Jts97z28, you're right. If it's that easy to switch out I'm doing it!

I'll get to it. It seems that lately, whenever I decide to move forward with doing this, something else crops up. I am concerned with alignment issues, and I've been trying to get a hold of my trusted, alignment guy, to make sure he'll be able to check it out, after I drop it.

He's been my "go to guy" for the last 30 years, but all of a sudden, he's not answering the phone. I've been trying his number for two weeks. He's located on the other side of town, from where I live, but it looks like I'm going to have to drive over to his shop, and see what's going on..........

1 inch drop all around does not require an alignment. (Safe)

I've had mine lowered 1" for the last 10k miles with no alignment and no ill effects so far. The tires look good yet but only 28k on the clock.

No problems here. Lowered about an inch. I did have mine aligned thou because steering wheel was tilted a little to the right. 16,000 miles.
