Downsizing Wheels for Winter- 14 WK2 Limited w/ towing package

Hello everyone!

We are trying to get a set of winter tires and wheels for our GC this winter. We have a 2014 Limited with trailer group IV and 18" wheels. Does anyone know if we can safely downsize to 17" wheels like the Laredo has? Tirerack.com does not allow downsizing t below the stock 18" on the Limited for some reason. I did notice that you can get trailer group IV on a Laredo with 17" wheels, so I would assume that it is safe to downsize. One other thing to note is that our spare tire is an 18" wheel (not sure if that matters?). If anyone has experience with this I would greatly appreciate anyone's knowledge.

Downsizing Wheels for Winter- 14 WK2 Limited w/ towing package

I have a 14 Limited Hemi. I downsize to 18" which is as low as I can go due to heavy duty break package that came with tow package and Hemi.

I went with 18" steel rims. Much cheaper to replace than a nice rim.

18"s are as small as you can go on the Limited + trim models, it's due to the size of the brakes. Only the Laredo will accept 17" rims.

You can pick up a set of OEM Grand Cherokee or Wrangler 18's for the same if not less than steelies. Try Craigslist.

I have a set of GC Trailhawk 18" rims with TPMS and winter ready all terrains mounted in the For Sale section. Take a look and let me know if you're interested.

False, I have 17" Laredo wheels on my 2014 Overland V6 for winter. It fits if you have the non-vented rear disc brake. Hemi has bigger rear brakes and it does not fit.

OO this is good news. My brother is looking to change the Overland 20" to smaller and using offroad on rocky terrain.
A 17" with higher profile tires will be the answer.
