Re: Duratracs and Mopar offroad wheels on a 2014

Thanks. I designed the badges thru an online custom decal store. Though there are plenty of diesel emblems and decals from VWs etc that might work for folks. 'DIESEL' is in black to match the car trim and 'turbo' is red with black outline to set it off and match up with a minor red detail i have planned of painting my brake calipers red to neaten up the look behind the black wheels.

i will try to get more pics later.

When i first bought it i thought my GC had a little too much chrome for my taste but after ditching the stock silver wheels for black i am now much happier with the chrome trim. Better visual balance or something i guess.

Love the setup!

Mind if I ask where you picked up the wheels and tires?

Ordered the wheels online at whichever mopar parts store was cheapest at the time (2 months ago). Maybe chrysleronlineparts.com or some such store. Tires came thru local America's Tire shop who installed them.

I like how you think with the black and red for the turbo diesel hood badges. I'm doing red calipers too but going to do the Brembo/SRT caliper swap. (I have all the brake parts already but I'm still deciding on what srt rep wheels to go with; that's the biggest drawback to srt brakes is you need the srt rep wheels to clear those massive front brembo calipers. so when I swap them my oem stock wheels and current black wheels will be useless, but I can always swap the brakes back too.) I agree red will really neaten the look behind the black wheel, the gravel color calipers stood out much more when I put my black wheels on and I thought to myself "red would look nice there!"

Did you consider painting your front tow hooks red too? I just put red tow hooks on mine and I really like the look, it sets them off nicely. the black hooks kind of get lost in the black of the lower fascia around them. (it's easy to take them off to paint or replace with the red Mopar ones, you just need a 30mm deep socket for the bolt on the back of the hooks and an 18mm to loosen the two forward bolts on each hook. there's also a 10mm bolt I removed which holds the felt liner in place that I folded back to get access to the rear tow hook bolt. And the lower fascia removal is easy with 7 quarter turn fasteners and then you just pull the thing off.) I can post a pic of mine if you want to see how they look.

I was considering painting the chrome bezels around the fog lights red but I don't know if that would look cool or cheesy; but if I black out the 7 radiator rings and the lower fascia chrome I figured I could try red for the fog bezels and if I didn't like it could just make them black....that's if I get around to any of that..

hook us up with some hood badge pics..

Re: Duratracs and Mopar offroad wheels on a 2014

Sorry for the delay. Been getting knee mri blah blah blah.

i am going to skip the red tow hooks as all i am looking for is a touch of red on the sides with the turbo badges and calipers.

with the stock.wheels i thought my jeep had a little too much chrome but now with the black wheels it looks just right and well balanced to me.

Re: Duratracs and Mopar offroad wheels on a 2014

looks very good Goonbash. If I didn't have a diesel Jeep and I saw your truck with hood badges I'd probably figure it came from the factory that way!

Thanks fellas. Just got the front windows tinted to match the rears. Got a few more details to attend to but nothing major.

Now that you've had the duratracs for a while how do you like them? Ride? Noise? Overall performance?
