Re: Duratracs and Mopar offroad wheels on a 2014

Love them. Ride is still quite smooth in normal ride height (quadralift) and still stiff in offroad1 and offroad2 just like it was with the stock soccer mom tires. I aired them down to 25psi for a mild desert offroad excursion on rough terrain, not that i needed the extra traction just to see if i could get OR1 and OR2 ride heights to be not so stiff feeling (which they both were with stock tires too). It worked great, much smoother over washboard dirt road and rocks in OR1 and OR2.

they are a little noisier but only on certain pavement and you have to turn the radio down.all the way to even tell. They seemed to be a little noisier than stock when they were brand new but after a few hundred miles a lot of that went away. I thought there might be a little tire squirm when cornering due to the deep tread blocks but there isnt any at all. They grip better even on dry pavement than the stock tires, probablyy due to the bigger contact patch. They are a TON better than stock when braking on snow/ice

No worries. When the tire shop gave it back to me with 40psi in the tires the ride was a little more harsh than stock. Once i dropped them to 35psi the ride was as good as stock.

I'm planning on mounting these tires in the same size on my stock 18s. I'm thinking they will fit but if anyone can chime in on experience that would be so much better.

I believe my mopar offroad wheels are the same specs as stock. But you can check on some websites that sell them.

Post pics - I'm still trying to decide on the duratracs or the terra grapplers on the stock 18's. It'll be nice to see how it looks as I've not seen anyone with it yet.

I had the Nitto Terra Grapplers on my previous truck. They were an awesome tire when I first put them on, but 20k miles in they were crappy. There was a noticeable decrease in their performance and I found the performance a little better than the stock Latitudes in the snow. They also wore fairly quickly, 40k miles was almost at the wear bars.

I will add that I also had the Nokian Rotiiva AT on my 13 Overland and they were a really great tire. Quiet, smooth, and great snow performance. They perform like a really good AT and almost like a lower end snow tire, which is speaking a lot for an AT. I'm going with the Duratracs this time for something a little different and I've heard nothing but great things about them. Otherwise the Nokians would be on. A great tire to consider.

I hope these Duratracs work well, will definitely post pics.

Appreciate the feedback on the nittos.

Look forward to seeing the duratracs on the stockers.

I don't like these stock tires on my '14 - they did pitiful in the rain yesterday, so I'm itching to move to a new tire.

I had the Duratracs installed today on stock rims, they look amazing and the fit is great. It sits close on some points but still has plenty of room. This should be stock on these Jeeps.

Some quick thoughts-

Ride- better than stock. Smoother, absorbs imperfections on the road better. Running 35psi. No vibrations at low speeds. On the highway you can feel a little harshness from the road transmitting through, but they are load e. Steering wheel shimmy is completely gone, although mine wasn't bad from the beginning.

Noise- louder than stock although I hear it quiets down with miles. Not obnoxious. At 75 mph I had the news radio at a volume of 10 and heard it over the tires and other noise. It's not burdening but you can def hear it.

Looks- way better than stock. Looks like a fun and aggressive AT not like a crazy MT that doesn't belong on a luxury vehicle. It is aggressive looking though. And much better in person than in pics. The rear stance looks really good although again, harder to see in pics.

Handling- great- no negative impressions. You can feel it want to follow grooves a little more but not bad.

Attached some pics to show as much detail and clearance as possible. Sorry for the dirty jeep but the weather hasn't been the best and more rain/mix on Sat.

No problem. Tpms is working fine. After driving on the highway I saw the psi go up by 1.

I only have about 30 miles on the tires, more info will come as I test and encounter weather.
