Falken WildPeak A/T vs BFG Rugged Terrain T/A

The Michelin Latitudes are done at 41,000 miles and need to be replaced. I drive about 70% on road and 30% off. I don't intend on doing any heavy duty wheeling but want something that has more off-road capability, does better on wet roads and snow. Noise isn't as big a concern but would still like a decent ride and good wear characteristics. I should mention that I will be having the RRO Leveling kit installed at the same time the tires are being installed and am going with P265/65R/18's.
I have read good things about the WildPeaks and they seem like they would have the edge from a performance standpoint but not by a huge margin. I like the looks of the BFG's with their OWL sidewall.

Would like to hear from anyone running either of these tires, I want to get them installed before the next Arctic Vortex : )

Greetings,

I had the BFG Rugged Terrain T/A for while. My experience with winter conditions was not great at all. Basically, traction was a problem. In wet road conditions they did pretty well. The noise was another issue and after 20k+ I had enough with them.

I selected the Nokian Rotiva AT to replace them.

Best for now.

Not to muddy the waters, but I've read good things about the Cooper Discoverer A/T3's and am looking at them to upgrade of the stock tires. They seem to get better reviews than the BFG's for snow traction.

Greetings,

I almost went for the A/T3's, they were my second choice last year. They have excellent reviews and performance. I went for the Nokian's.

Best for now.

Is anyone running this tire size has mentioned by the OP P265/65R/18?

If yes, comments and pics please.

What caused you to choose the Nokians over the Coopers?

Greetings,

It came down to the winter performance, were Nokian's technology is well regarded in this area. Nokian is well know in Europe and Canada and it is making it's name here in the US. In fact, Bridgestone owns a percentage of the company.

Otherwise, if you study the Cooper's, it is very similar to the Nokian.

Best for now.
