did you get them installed yet? Could you fill us in on all of the steps that you used to polish them?

Re: Fixed the ugly oem 20s

I am waiting for Thursday to put the bilstein 5100s on too so I only need 1 alignment. To be honest I used chemical stripper called stripoxy to strip the factory finish, then because of curb rash I started with 400grit and worked up to 1500 grit. I tried using the Eastwood wheel refinish kit and did not get good results, so I used good old fashioned elbow grease. From there it was just clean and spray, I got pretty bad orange peel as it was 86 degrees and humid, and that glistenpc sets up faster with higher humidity.

So in the end would I do it again? Absolutely not, I would do as Jeep Addicted had done, and just scuff and spray, this would require Rims in excellent shape though.

Re: Fixed the ugly oem 20s

I was unhappy with the finish and made a mistake of looking at the tire store, the Jeep will be getting Black Rhino Spears with the black/machined look, they should be here Tuesday. I'm thinking these wheels might end up matte black/gold, and be winter tires, I just don't like how the clear on the polished surface ended up cloudy up close.
