Well if you keep your Nittos we can compare notes as we go, so that next time we need tires we'll know more. Who knows, maybe next time I will want the Nittos. Those Duratracs, they're pricey...

Even though I bought my tires last week I just called Goodyear to try this. They processed it after the fact and are sending a check for $350. Awesome, thanks again!

when you call, bypass the initial choices for 1 & 2, it'll ring some more then give you other choices - select option 5 to make a warranty claim.

Hey so I was told that I needed the old tires to prove that there was a problem with premature wear. How'd you get around that?

Goodyear called my tire shop and talked directly to them. This was within a few days after they'd installed the tires so the shop remembered that my tread was low and they easily pulled my paperwork. Actually I was on hold with Goodyear when they called the tire shop, it happened quickly and Goodyear came back to me on the phone in just a few minutes. All in all it was a low-pain exercise. OcGrand2015, thanks again and if we ever meet I'm buying the beers.

I am too having premature wear on my forteras. Looking at GY's warranty details it says the warranty doesn't apply on tires supplied as "original equipment". You guys who got your warranty claims were they your original tires? I am not sure how the warranty will work for me as my jeep has 60k or more miles on it but I run a set of dedicated snow wheels and tires so I am not sure how I will prove the miles weren't all on the good years....

Re: Goodyear Fortera HL 265/50-20: replacing at 25,000 miles

You would not be making a warranty claim. You would be requesting a customer accommodation. Basically you call the main line for the manufacturer and tell them you are concerned that even though you tire does not have a tread warranty the tread has worn prematurely and you would like to see if they will do a "customer accomodation" they will direct you to an authorized shop for there brand, who will look at the tires and verify the tire was used under normal conditions and no mechanical failure or lack or rotation etc caused the premature wear. If the tire has been used with in normal conditions and wore fairly quickly. They will often discounts 10-50% of the cost of the tire, and apply it to a new set of tires from the same manufacturer.

hmmm, i've got 17k on the factory Forteras, and they look brand new. I wonder if they switches compound formulation at some point in one of the factories? I also had these on a Commander that looks like new at 25k.
