Re: Grand Cherokee Recall - Brake Booster

Me three. I made my appointment for Thurs. I'm going to have a few other items fixed as well. The service manager warned me it would be a 2-appointment process. They first have to inspect, and then order the correct parts.

Re: Grand Cherokee Recall - Brake Booster

Got mine last night. Called service this am and got placed on a list. CHRYSLER has yet to send all the needed parts and they will call me when it's my turn on the list. Good thing it's working properly.

For the recall, it is going to be a waste of time. They don't have the parts. They are first going to inspect it. However, I also need to take mine in for a leaky steering boot, and disconnected tranny breather hose (their fault from last repair). They will probably also have to order new parts for the steering rack. The fun times begin. Maybe I should have traded at the 2-yr mark?

This. This is why I'd rather them not even touch it, to be honest. But I also don't want to be the first sap who loses control of the brakes because I decided not to go in. But which is worse?

Re: Grand Cherokee Recall - Brake Booster

Right or wrong, not getting a NHTSA safety recall done will come back to haunt you somewhere down the road. That information will be glued to your vin forever.

Re: Grand Cherokee Recall - Brake Booster

From what it sounds like the dealers are pissed about all the calls they are getting with no say from Chrysler about when the parts would be available !!

They are supposed to do a vacuum loss check first, and order either a new booster and rubber kit or just the rubber kit.

There is another, much longer thread, about this recall that has the tsb. We now have at least three threads running on this subject. Any mods out there able to combine them?

Any of those notices tell you to make copies and mail them to your friends to avoid bad luck?
