Yep... I know. I took a picture of the booster, but didn't post because it seemed obvius there was no protection on it. Worse yet, according to Jeep's recall page, my VIN shows this recall as COMPLETE?!
Perhaps this is bad news then... because I see no shield on there? Did the previous owner or a mechanic remove it? Unlikely... what seems more likely is a dealer just pencil whipped it.
My red BRAKE warning light is also illuminated on the dash. Hopefully it's a failure related to lack of this shield from the recall and will be fixed, because I am at 142K miles... clearly out of warranty.
EDIT: Scratch that. I went out and felt around/double checked. The styrofoam shield does not cover the front of the booster as I had imagined, but only the sides, back to where it meets the firewall. I guess I will continue my search of why the brake system has a malfunction light. Here's to hoping this free coupon I have at the dealer for a diagnostic system check can figure it out...
