Grooves on Rotors

I noticed grooves on my front rotors. I can get my finger nail caught on them.
They are on both front rotors. Rears are clean.
Anyone have grooves on their Rotors.
Went to service today, told to bring it in on Tuesday to deglaze the pads.
Was told this is normal....how can grooves be normal with 6000 miles on them?

Re: Grooves on Rotors

I wonder if this relates to sticky guide pins. This may cause the pad to skew ??? There is a TSB for the pin issue.

When I had squeal issues when cold, they only did the deglazing of the pads. Otherwise it may just be a case of sand/dirt getting into the pad.

Looks like something got caught between the pad and the disc.
I would have them pull the pads to check for foreign objects.

I wouldn't bother doing anything to the disk.
Resurfacing the disk would shorten the life of the disc.
That little groove isn't going to hurt anything.
