Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep?

Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep, for not being an On/Off road tires as they stated on sticker?
I am curious, I had placed 3 complaints with Jeep and still was told there is nothing they can do.
I am just worried that these tires will not perform well in snow conditions.
Thanks

Jeep will never replace your tires. It is what it is when it comes to the tires in the off road package. A few people had the dealer or a tire shop give them credit for take-offs and put on an on/off road tire of their own choice.

I am worried that these tires will not hold up in winter driving with snow. Dealer said it was up to Chrysler to replace them. I still think its a bait and switch.
A co worker just got one for his wife and it has the Goodyear Fortera's on it. Dealer told me that they started using different tires now, maybe from complaints not sure.

Re: Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep?

The tires used are the same and will remain the same as far as we know. 20 inch wheels get the forteras and the 18 inch wheels get michelins. As for the dealer telling you they are using different tires I think they were just blowing smoke. Every WK2 I have seen has had one of those two tires unless it was an export model. Go to tirerack.com and look at the surveys on the tires and make the best choice based on the conditions you may encounter.

Re: Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep?

I tried, and failed, to get my dealer to agree to a tire swap when I preordered. I will try again when the car is delivered, but I doubt its going to happen. I am on the fence for just living with it for a while until the pain of the downpayment is gone and then buying new tires or swapping immediately and hoping to get some money back from craigslist or ebay for a few tires with 20 miles on them....i will probably be lazy and do nothing, and then regret it later....

Re: Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep?

I know people that drive all winter (In Pittsburgh, PA) with summer tires on. I had a Crown Vic with summer tires on all winter last year with no issues. Do you really think the stock tires are going to be bad on a 5000LB. vehicle with AWD? I had my jeep with the Latitudes during a 6" snowfall last year and had absolutely no issues at all. I have had my Jeep on trails and in mud with no issues at all.

I can see why people get all pissy about the tires not "looking" aggressive for a Jeep with an off-road package but the tires are just fine for anything you "should" be driving in in a JGC.

I strongly believe that they should provide a bit more aggressive tires for the off road pkg, that being said, i am sure an equal number of people would be complaining about the ride and mpg of the AT tires if they did ship with them....

Yeah that's true and Jeep wants to maintain good MPGs since it's not exactly the most fuel efficient manufacturer

Re: Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep?

Im not an offroader...so Im just stating what I see here......

Most offroaders want to select their own tires anyway if they are serious about it. Jeep has to keep a balance between on road and offraod manners, MPG's etc. But my main point is...that most offroaders have their own tire that they like and will add anyway...same with the street guys.......

Forget the dealer, go to a local tire store, preferable a large chain, and work a deal out with them. They will tell you how they want to handle it, either delivering the tired to the dealer or asking you to drive straight to their shop from when you take delivery to minimize wear.

Don't expect to get much more than 50% of retail on a trade but that can go a long way is the store you are buying from is a heavy discounter like Discount Tire or NTB.

I had about 500 miles on my Fortera's and Discount gave me $100 per tire on a trade. I jumped all over that and am glad I did.

Re: Has anyone had their Michelin Latitude Tour Tires replaced by Jeep?

The reviews of the Michelins on tirerack.com looked pretty good to me...

I guess I don't understand what all of the fuss on tires is about. Are the OEM tires cheap? Or are they just not optimal for certain conditions?

They aren't cheap, but they aren't "all terrain" which is what people expect when you buy the Off Road package.

The Michelin Latitudes Tour (18", not to be confused with the Tour HP in the 20" size) are good tires and should work well for anyone who doesn't switch to full on winter tires. If you are in the great white north then Blizzaks or Nokian's are probably in your future.
