Hill Descent

Does the trans have to be in low for Hill Descent to work ?

IIRC the transfer case has to be in 4 wheel low. The electronics should adjust everything else. Double check in the owner's manual.

Yes 4w/low but FYI it took me 4 or 5 times too get out of 4w/low.

You have to be rolling in N and over 5mph too get out of 4w/low!!

IME it doesn't have to be rolling, 4LO just takes time to respond after the push of the button. I was expecting it to be instant the first time I engaged/disengaged it.

True. But according to the owner's manual it should be. Otherwise it could take several tries.

It should be below 5 mph not above.
