How long did your fortera tires last?

I just hit 25k miles on my 2011 and my tires are starting to look low. I drive kind of aggressively but expected a bit more life out of them.

What did you get?

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

I got about 50k out of the fronts. About 35k out of the rears. I bought another set because they were on sale at Tire Rack.

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

Were only at 18k miles and they are starting to be noticeably lower.

These tires dont have too much tread on them to begin with, but offroading and decently aggressive onroad driving doesnt help.

And to think I put a hole in one offroading the other day... I needed an excuse to swap to 275/55/20 Goodyear Silent Armors, but no one had them in stock for the spur of the moment purchase so I settled for a patch on the Fortera..

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

I've had to patch two of mine. They seem to be very light weight tires.

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

I'm sitting at 22k with mine and have maybe 25% left...however, they've been garbage from day one. Unable to 100% balance as a couple balance too heavy. I waited too long to really press the issue and decided to run them a little longer. given it's the winter season i am planning to go with a different tire just need to decide if I want to stick with the 20" or drop down to the 18" wheel.

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

I'm liking the look of the Nitto Terra Grappler 265/50/20's. I plan to keep stock size as it still looks great and fitment is perfect for all levels of QL.

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

did you go with these? I had a set ordered and then canceled a few weeks back. Most on here went up one size and have only positive remarks with them, however, when sticking with the oem size, there have been conflicting reviews. Some say they are very hard and firm while others say they don't feel any worse than the GY's. I was unsure and decided to hold off...

I'm considering dropping to the 18 overland wheels and going with the Yokamaha Geolander ATS, but I can't seem to give up the looks of the 20".

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

It is tough to give up the 20's...I keep going back and forth in my head about switching to the 18" black mopar wheels. It would probably be a hassle to sell my rims and tires and I don't want a second set so I'll prob just stick with the 20's.

I hit some road debris and it took out both Forteras on my passenger side. I was shocked how easy they ripped open on the sidewall

WOW. Those things must be tough on the ears on the freeway.

Re: How long did your fortera tires last?

I don't think I would go with a bigger tire on the 20" wheels. The next size up is a full inch taller than the factory tire. It would look great in OR2 but like BUTT at normal ride height.

I think the larger size makes the jeep look more like it is supposed to, especially at normal ride height.
