Re: How many miles on stock brakes?

I am at 52,600 and the front and rear pads look like they will go at least to 100K. My driving is Virginia highway and DC city. I previously owned a 2008 Patriot and only needed to replace the rears at 80K and sold it at 100K - the front pads still had a ways to go. Best brake life I have ever experienced on any vehicles.

73k on my 2011 overland. Pads still have 8mm left so the dealer said. Also said that the stock pads start at 13mm so should be plenty left...

Re: How many miles on stock brakes?

I just had the rotors resurfaced at 42K after feeling vibration when braking at high speed. I travel the i5 "grapevine" in California fairly regularly.

Also needed new tires at 38K. Replaced them with the Forteras.

I am not rough on the truck but do cruise @ 80mph on the highways....

37,000 and 50% left on pads. Rotors are warped. I wonder if I have them turned if they will warp again.

Today's rotors are barely turnable.... We r in the era of disposable rotors, used to be u had to really do a high speed stop to warp rotors, now a sneeze on the brakes can do it. If you find a shop that will turn them u will find that a mouse fart application of the brakes will warp them again...replace them, don't turn em, IMHO.

Funny, I find my 5 speed downshifts quite well on it's own and when it doesn't I just give the shifter a quick nudge to the left and downshift it.
