That would most assuredly depend on your driving conditions. Just think about brake usage difference between 10,000 city and 10,000 highway miles. Vastly different wear on brakes. Your question would require a lot of information to answer with any sense. New York City or Montana miles?
i completely agree with you on that. I am somewhere in between. Michigan miles. Still lots of hwy with the ocassional rush hour traffic if i get out of work late, or down town traffic when going to see the Wings play.
I've had entire vehicles that haven't lasted 73k miles. I don't have real world experience with my JGC to compare, but I'd have to say that's pretty damn good for brake pads on any vehicle under any driving conditions.
I got 70K on my last vehicle on the brakes...but yea, it's entirely about how and where you drive. I don't do much "stop and go", so my brakes are going to naturally last longer than someone who is always driving in a congested area.
I think 73k is freaking awesome! Esp since I don't think your 5spd tranny has the very beneficial (to braking) downshifting capabilities of the 8spd bringing this 5k lb beast to a stop. I have never had a vehicle where I simply didnt have to push hard to stop hard on average. That tranny really seems to save the brakes. Time will tell.

haha, yeah it does not down shift very well, unless in tow haul. (but who the hell drives around with that on). Yeah i might have to take a peek here soom at those pads. might just have to get some slotted rotors and ceramic pads for it. Hell then i will be good for another 110K+ miles!!!
I am at 52,600 and the front and rear pads look like they will go at least to 100K. My driving is Virginia highway and DC city. I previously owned a 2008 Patriot and only needed to replace the rears at 80K and sold it at 100K - the front pads still had a ways to go. Best brake life I have ever experienced on any vehicles.
I just had the rotors resurfaced at 42K after feeling vibration when braking at high speed. I travel the i5 "grapevine" in California fairly regularly.
Also needed new tires at 38K. Replaced them with the Forteras.
I am not rough on the truck but do cruise @ 80mph on the highways....
Today's rotors are barely turnable.... We r in the era of disposable rotors, used to be u had to really do a high speed stop to warp rotors, now a sneeze on the brakes can do it. If you find a shop that will turn them u will find that a mouse fart application of the brakes will warp them again...replace them, don't turn em, IMHO.
