Not according to my buddy who is the engineer at Mopar who is making the SRT brake kit for the WK2. Thats the big hold back with releasing an SRT brake package for the WK2 for non SRT WK2s.

Whats the part# for the special SRT8 M/C? You do know that some people have already bought the brembo calipers, pads and rotors and mounted them on a non SRT8 WK2 with no issues at all, other than needing larger SRT8/aftermarket wheels to clear the bigger Brembo calipers.

Just because its been done, doesnt mean its done right. I will find out tomorrow when Im at Chrysler what the challenges are for this. I used to design brakes at TRW and there is much more to making a brake system then throwing big calipers on and calling it good. Your supposed to match your MC capacities to your size of your caliper pistons.....but we are talking chrysler here so they could have done something stupid I have seen dumber things.

Re: HOW To: ADD 2012 jeep SRT8 Brembos to your 2011+ Grand Cherokee!

Ive had the wk2 SRT brembos on my wifes 2011 durango for about a year...no problems at all. I also have a 2013 Jeep SRT and the master cylinders are INDEED the exact same. The Jeep SRT has the BEST braking system of ANY SUV.....PERIOD!

Re: HOW To: ADD 2012 jeep SRT8 Brembos to your 2011+ Grand Cherokee!

Anyone know if the SRT8 300M has the same calipers, just a different color?
Yea yea, sure I could paint them so they're not red, but would rather start out with the gray/silver caliper if possible.
Thanks.

Re: HOW To: ADD 2012 jeep SRT8 Brembos to your 2011+ Grand Cherokee!

Interesting. Would have been interesting to see test results from the stock Durango brakes with fresh fluid and the Raybestos pads similar to ones used for the upgrade.

Old joke Americans want brakes that dont make any noise and couldnt care less about stopping power and Germans want brakes that work and dont care about the noise.

Might be able to get close to similar results with a good high performance brake pad front and rear and the stock rotors. Along with a quality brake fluid with a high wet boiling point.

If you are looking for better brake performance you can get similar results by fitting a high performance brake pad, Earl's brake lines and replacing the brake fluid with a fluid with a high wet boiling point like ATE Gold. Also going to high performance tire like the Toyo instead of a no season like the OEM Goodyears and Michelins will give you shorter stopping distances.

If you are going for looks go for the Brembos.

Re: HOW To: ADD 2012 jeep SRT8 Brembos to your 2011+ Grand Cherokee!

No...you cant. I tried that. the brakes would go to mush, start to fade bad and get hot. I did several several tests and the brake fade on the stock brakes is horrible. This is a huge vehicle. the brembos would get better with every stop with 0 fade and 0 overheating. If you need to make one stop...your way is ok...but consistent braking....no.
